In Broomall woods, midcentury modern stunner wants $695K

Tucked away in the Broomall woods, the home at 131 Deerfield road epitomizes the midcentury modern style.

The four-bed, three-bath place was built in 1968, right in the heart of the midcentury modern boom—and it shows. It has a kind of treehouse feel, with two living areas and a dining room on the first story that all feature floor-to-ceiling windows gazing out into the woods.

The kitchen adds some retro pizzaz to the space, with bright red counters and a subway tile backsplash. Plus, there’s a porch with a glass railing that winds around most of the living spaces, and has views down to the small creek behind the house.

The master bedroom at another end of the home has a lot to offer, primarily in its private bathroom, which features a cylindrical shower with a built-in skylight.

The 3,000-square-foot home has undergone a price increase since it was last sold in 2002 for $405,000. It’s on a 1.2-acre lot with a creek in the back, and it’s just minutes from I-476 into Philly.
